Luxury Hand Turned Pecan Wood Bowl – Sculptural Wooden Vessel with Spalted Grain, Mississippi Crafted
Description
This hand-turned Pecan wood bowl is a sculptural expression of resilience, beauty, and time. Formed from a storm-fallen pecan tree in Lucedale, Mississippi, the wood was naturally weathered before being reclaimed and shaped. This exposure allowed spalting to develop—subtle gray tonal variations and organic markings that emerge only under specific natural conditions. These features give the bowl a depth and visual character that cannot be manufactured or replicated.
Pecan wood is prized for its strength and complex grain, and this piece showcases those qualities in full. Gentle shifts in tone move across the surface, revealing layers of natural history preserved within the wood itself. The bowl’s proportions allow it to function both as a centerpiece and as a sculptural object, bringing warmth and authenticity into any interior space.
Measuring approximately 9½ inches in diameter and 5½ inches tall, the form is substantial yet balanced, with a presence that draws attention without overwhelming its surroundings. Whether displayed on a dining table, console, or shelf, it offers a quiet, enduring sense of craftsmanship and permanence.
Each surface has been carefully refined through progressive sanding, sealed for protection, and finished with a hand-rubbed wax polish that enhances the natural grain while creating a smooth, luminous sheen. This finish preserves the wood’s organic character while ensuring lasting durability.
Because of the natural spalting and grain variation, no two bowls will ever be alike. This piece exists as a singular work—shaped by nature and completed by hand.
